Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

The short version: Hover Measure collects nothing. Every conversion happens locally in your browser. There are no accounts, no analytics, no trackers, and no data of any kind is ever sent to us or anyone else.

What the extension does with page content

To show conversions, Hover Measure reads the visible text on the pages you view so it can detect measurements (like 250 mm or 140 W). This reading happens entirely on your device, in real time. That text is never stored, logged, or transmitted anywhere. Nothing about the pages you visit leaves your browser.

What we store

The extension saves your settings — such as decimal precision, theme, and whether it's on or off — using your browser's local storage (the storage permission). This stays on your device to remember your preferences between sessions. It contains no personal information and is never sent to us.

What we don't do

Permissions

Hover Measure requests a single permission:

It does not request access to your accounts, cookies, downloads, or browsing history.

The website (hovermeasure.com)

This marketing site is a static page hosted on Vercel. We do not set cookies or run analytics on it. Like any website, our hosting provider may process standard technical request information (such as IP address and browser type) to serve pages and protect against abuse. The page also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of delivering those fonts.

Children

Hover Measure is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the extension handles data, we'll update this page and revise the date above. Material changes will be reflected in the extension's store listing.
